It was brought to my attention today and verified by MDC personel that they are considering going to a reservation only format for waterfowl areas next year. Also, they are considering allowing each hunter to hunt an area only 3 times during one season.
If implemented, the poor line days are over and choosing to hunt on the migration days would be a thing of the past.
It seems as though they are trying to cater to the urban fellas again.
There are 3000-10000 applications for reservations on each area every year. How are we going to be able to hunt more than a couple of times a year even if you get drawn without a poorline.
If you disagree with this proposal, call/write/email the new Director, Bob Ziehmer. Also let Mike Schroer or Bill Berg of the Waterfowl Unit your opinion.
My opinion is, just more crazy ideas from MDC. Next they may try to limit fishing pressure by reservations. _________________ If you could only release ducks like you do trout. |

This is absurd. I hunt the duck parks a bunch, because of the difficulty finding an open area down here. Everything is either a very expensive club or a reserved river blind. There is always the option of blind jumping, but I don't really like to exercise this option. _________________ Spam, please report to Admin

Not true
There are no plans to eliminate the waterfowl reservation system, but we are
considering ways to make the daily "poor line" drawings more efficient and
convenient for both hunters and Department staff. But whatever changes are
made, we will preserve the daily drawing concept. A number of options are under
review, but no decisions have yet been made.
I will share your correspondence with the members of the Regulations Committee
so they will be aware of your opinions and suggestions. Please contact me if I
can be of further assistance.

My opinion is change it, please! By all means. The current system is inefficient and a waste of gasoline/ time/ money/ sleep.
I would rather go to a virtual poor line that allows me to mark my dates via the web and know if I am going to draw a pill. I would love to hunt more of the CA lands in MO... but have to stick to those close to home due to the fact that I might not draw out of the poor line.
Please, change this system to rely more on technology.
That is my input.
Also, is there an (and I hope the answer again is "yes" to technology) online way for me to share my input with the MDC? Noone writes a letter any more. Really. Where to I send my email input?
Thanks Bill.

| I hunt the parks alot I like it the way it is. Changing it to use more technology instead of putting in the work? If it is to expensive or takes to much time take up a different hobby. The only reason they want to change it in the first place is because someone who has the ear of someone in the MDC didn't get into hunt Grand Pass. |
