I bought a 14' john a few weeks ago and decided that I should get started on the paint job since we have had some nice weather. So I headed out to Farm and Home to get some paint...
Employee said "the Hunter Green paint will dry similar to a flat olive drab." So I bought it. I started painting and it seemed that the paint was much brighter than the sample color. The boat now looks like a brand new John Deer green boat with a high gloss.
PICS TO COME LATER
I have some spray painting to do to get the gloss off the color and darken the boat.
Any suggestions that can help me on this project? _________________ -Coach |

Went out this morning and started spraying the boat. Figured that I had to fix the original problem with the gloss so I didn't use any stencils.
This is after the first coat of Hunter Green
After a coat of black
After desert green (with my little helper)
After khaki
Put the motor and tank on
There are still a few spots of green that give off a shine when the sun hits it. It's a hell of a lot better than when I started. Any thoughts of improvements, blinds, etc? _________________ -Coach |

That there motor is brand spanking new....as of 1974.
Airhawk 5hp that sat in my grandfather's basement for 35 years. He bought it new and never used it. Never even had a drop of gas in it before I picked it up. Runs like a champ! _________________ -Coach |

Don't know. I would have to look into it. I do know it was manufactured in KC, MO. _________________ -Coach |

Yeah willie, I'm sure it is, but I'll pass on the cash solely based on who I got it from. It definately will mean a lot more to me when I use it coming from my grandfather. _________________ -Coach |
